Progress Through Innovation: SONOTEC in the WAVE Research Project

Air-Coupled Ultrasound
WAVE Research Project
Measurement setup with the SONOAIR

For two years, we have been part of the WAVE (Wide Application Vibration Element) research project in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems (IPMS).

Our Goal:
The development and evaluation of semiconductor-based ultrasonic transducers utilizing innovative MEMS sensors. MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical systems) are tiny sensors that detect physical, chemical, or mechanical changes and convert them into electrical signals.

Project Highlights:

  • Development of a broadband sensor element for AI-supported preventive maintenance
  • Integration of new technologies to further develop our product portfolio
  • Lead-free technology that is not only forward-looking but also environmentally friendly
  • Testing with our devices, such as the SONOAIR (for air-coupled ultrasonic testing) and the SONAPHONE (for preventive maintenance)

Our insights are constantly growing, and we look forward to the next results!
