Distributors from all over the world as guests in Halle - 1st SONOTEC UT Summit

The first dealer conference held by the SONOTEC business unit Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) celebrates its successful premiere. On 13th and 14th September around 40 participating distributors from more than 20 countries took the opportunity for a lively exchange of information and experiences in the field of non-destructive materials testing.

The first event day was entirely devoted to knowledge and technology transfer. A comprehensive program with application-oriented technical presentations, product trainings and live demonstrations on SONOTEC ultrasonic measuring equipment for materials testing (SONOSCREEN ST10), wall thickness measurement (SONOWALL 70) and air-coupled ultrasonic inspections (SONOAIR) extended effectively the product expertise of the distributors. At multiple training stations the invited guests could try ultrasonic testing devices, close possible knowledge gaps and gain new impulses and ideas for their consulting and sales. The team of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of Business Unit Director Manuel Lucas on the other hand gathered valuable knowledge of the special challenges in relevant target markets and needs of the distributors.

Guided company tours gave all participants interesting insights into key development, production and logistic departments and processes.  Beside practical knowledge about conventional ultrasonic testing methods Mario Kiel from Research Center for Ultrasonics in Halle, conveyed the theoretical basics on air-coupled ultrasonic inspection. A day filled with information, which then came to a relaxing close at the "Halloren- und Salinemuseum" with a traditional salt boiling demonstration.

On the second event day the international guests of the SONOTEC UT Summit 2018 visited Leipzig, where they got an introduction to the German 'sub' culture of Brewing with the Sternburg beer brand, while, later on, a guided tram tour allowed them to dive into the various facets of the former fair metropolis.

Krystian Rostkowski, International Sales Manager of the business unit
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is very pleased with the feedback: „It's great that so many distributors from so far away followed our invitation. It shows how important it is to meet face to face. Our partners are brand ambassadors carrying the advantages of SONOTEC ultrasonic measurement technologies to the world. Events such as the UT Summit help us to strenghten our relationship, the advisory quality and the sales power of our business partners."
