SONOTEC on BioProcess International in Boston
For the third time running, SONOTEC successfully participated in BioProcess International Boston, the largest bioprocessing event merging science, technologies and industry partners needed to accelerate promising biologics towards commercial success.
The bioprocessing market is characterized by rapid growth and a yet steady innovation process, whereas single-use technologies are still one of the major industry drivers. Factors such as very low risk of product cross contamination, high energy efficiency, low water usage, less floor space requirement, and a fast implementation are key factors to the global single-use bioprocessing market. In conclusion, the global single-use bioprocessing market is projected to reach USD 5.44 Billion by 2021 from USD 2.47 Billion in 2016, at a CAGR of 17.8 %. *
Key to SONOTEC’s show presentation was the advanced non-invasive flow sensor SONOFLOW CO.55, which is specifically developed for upstream and downstream monitoring in the bioprocessing industry and pharmaceutical production. The SONOFLOW clamp-on sensors are the only devices on the market to offer an integrated electronics board, allowing the transducers to be used without an external board. The contactless sensor systems are suitable for applications ranging from process development through manufacturing to fill and finish operations.
Melanie Schmidt, Business Unit Director “Non-Invasive Fluid Monitoring” states an obvious trend of the industry: “There is a huge interest in sustainability, to significantly reduce the carbon footprint, energy, and water consumption. Our re-usable and contactless clamp-on sensor systems contribute to meet these demands to guide SUT into a more eco-friendly approach.”
