The 14th Conference on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) in the Railway Sector, organized by the German Society for Non-Destructive Testing (DGZfP), took place in Erfurt from March 17 to 19, bringing together industry experts to discuss current developments and technologies in railway inspection.
SONOTEC was on site and actively contributed to the professional exchange. As part of Session 5 “Workshop of the Future”, Mark Achtenberg presented his talk “Ultrasonic transducers for non-destructive testing without lead-based piezoceramics?”. The presentation attracted strong interest and was followed by an in-depth discussion with the audience, addressing numerous practical questions together with Kevin Chang, International Sales Manager at SONOTEC.
A special highlight of the event was the newly introduced “Speakers’ Corner”, offering additional space for deeper exchange, fresh perspectives, and hands-on insights.
Overall, the conference provided valuable impulses and highlighted the importance of innovative ultrasonic technologies for the future of non-destructive testing in the railway sector.
