SONOTEC exhibits at SEMICON West for the first time

SEMICON West will take place in Phoenix, USA, from October 7th to 9th, 2025. SONOTEC will be presenting ultrasonic sensors for non-contact flow measurement for the first time at the world's most important trade fair for the semiconductor industry.
As an exhibitor in the German Pavilion, SONOTEC is celebrating its premiere at SEMICON West in Phoenix, USA, this fall. At booth #1261-14, the ultrasonic specialist will present its high-precision flow sensors and air bubble detectors, which are specially designed for the high demands of semiconductor manufacturing. The compact and robust sensors of the SEMIFLOW series monitor and measure the transfer, distribution and fill levels of chemicals and other liquids within the fab in an uncomplicated and efficient manner. Thanks to the non-contact clamp-on architecture, there is no risk of contamination or leakage. The ultrasonic sensors are suitable for highly sensitive semiconductor manufacturing processes that require maximum accuracy and process stability.
“In wet chemical processes of the semiconductor industry, the use of cleaning chemicals and ultrapure water in particular represents one of the largest consumption cost factors. Real-time monitoring of the flow rate of these media is therefore crucial for the stability of critical process parameters and influences both product quality and yield. Non-contact measurement also avoids costly contamination and downtime”, summarizes Anika Baumhauer, International Strategy and Sales Manager at SONOTEC.
SEMIFLOW sensors reliably measure abrasive, adhesive, corrosive and ultra-pure liquids on industry-specific rigid plastic pipes and lines. Since the non-contact measuring method is wear-free, the clamp-on ultrasonic sensors require no maintenance.
The robust sensor material enables a long product life cycle. The minimal power consumption ensures low operating costs. Thus, the non-contact flow meters can contribute to sustainability strategies in the fab. The SEMIFLOW sensors are also characterized by their compact housing design with integrated electronics. They require little space in the plant and can be easily integrated into existing process chains and architectures. SONOTEC offers the SEMIFLOW series in various sizes to cover a comprehensive range of diameters of PFA, PTFE and other hard plastic tubes.
Designed for use in potentially explosive environments, SONOTEC offers the SEMIFLOW CO.66 PI Ex1 sensor series. The intrinsically safe flow meters are engineered for safe operation in zone 1 production areas in accordance with ATEX/IECEx. The sensors are protected against explosion hazards from gases and vapors in accordance with gas group IIB standards; the equipment protection level (EPL) is “Gb”.
